Crafting With Cement

Cement tiles have a fascinating history, with their intricate motifs and vibrant colours gracing homes for generations. However, they were nearly lost to industrialisation—until a recent resurgence in demand for handmade, sustainable products brought them back into the spotlight.

By bringing both the design and craft perspectives into the discussion, we aim to inspire students to explore how collaboration can transform traditional materials into contemporary design statements.
