AWAIT

The Artists for Artists Production Fund (A4A) was an initiative launched by Saskia Fernando Gallery in collaboration with the Udayshanth & Angelika Fernando Foundation in October 2021. As Sri Lanka’s first publicly funded arts grant, aimed at fostering emerging artists in the country, A4A marked a milestone in Sri Lankan contemporary art. By enabling young artists to continue researching and developing new bodies of work, this initiative addresses a long-overdue gap in arts funding, which has limited the scope for creative experiments in the country.
We are excited for this third stage of Production Fund Grants, where we are hoping to find three production grants via the funds raised in the upcoming auction of hand-painted bowls, created by artists for artists.

KALĀ is thrilled to announce that ceramicist and sculptor Senali Cooray has been selected for the upcoming residency at Hampi Art Labs!

Senali’s practice is a beautiful, continuous conversation with clay, balancing the stories she creates with deep explorations of the material itself.

Drawn by the historic architecture and the region’s rich, reddish-brown earth, Senali will explore traditional pottery firing techniques and experiment with local practice at Sandur and Hampi.

Congratulations, Senali!
