Rupaneethan Pakkiyarajah was born in Batticaloa, Sri Lanka. He is a visual artist
and lecturer at the Swami Vipulananda Institute of Aesthetic Studies, Eastern
University, Sri Lanka. He completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Art and
Design (Sculpture) at the University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka (2016). After graduation,
Pakkiyarajah participated in national and international art exhibitions. He has been
continuously learning through his participations in residential exchange programs
and displays, especially Colomboscope (Colombo), URONTO
(Bangladesh), and a solo show at Paradise Gallery Cafe. Currently, he is following his
postgraduate program at the Gzhel State University, Moscow, Russia. He has
exploring the power hierarchy and land-based conflicts in Sri Lanka and reflects
these sources of conflict in his work.
